The San Diego ComicCon International was a big hit for Flesk Publications. This was our busiest year. Thanks to everyone who stopped by to visit and support us. Next year, we are expanding to two booths to allow for more space to display our ever-growing product line.
James Bama: American Realist is still on track to ship on October 1. The limited signed edition is almost sold out. If you would like to guarantee you receive a copy of this special edition you can pre-order your copy direct from Flesk Publications.
Besides ordering direct from us, James Bama: American Realist is available from Bud Plant, the leader in art books, at www.budplant.com. You can also place your order with your local comic shop through Diamond Comic Distributors latest issue of Previews. The book is a featured item in the books section on page 390. The Previews order number is Aug06 3779 for the hardcover, and Aug06 3780 for the limited signed edition. You can take these item numbers to any comic shop to order the book. The latest issue of Starlog Magazine, features a three-page article on James Bama titled “Cover Story” by Will Murray. An excerpt can be found on Starlog’s website at www.starlog.com, or pick up the latest issue #348 to read the entire article. This is also their 30th anniversary issue, and can be found at all major book chains. I would like to send out a big thanks to the Starlog folks for plugging the upcoming James Bama book!
Journalist Bill Baker has posted his recent interview of me at http://www.worldfamouscomics.com/bakersdozen/back20060809.shtml
Bill was the first journalist to discover our line of books. He has been extremely generous with his time to inform the public about Flesk Publications. For this, I will always be forever grateful to Bill. This interview goes into detail about the future of Flesk and our goals. Be sure to visit Bakers Dozen on a regular basis to read his latest interview.
The entire production crew that worked on James Bama: American Realist met in person for the first time at the comic con in San Diego. This included Hans Karl, who composed the score for the Bama documentary, filmmaker Paul Jilbert, who put together the documentary, Brian Kane, author and designer of James Bama: American Realist, and the publisher, myself. It was a rare treat for us all to meet.
Hans Karl has an online article on his score. It can be read at http://cdbaby.com/cd/hanskarl3. Or, visit his website to listen to previews of his score (http://www.hanskarlmusic.com/).
Once again, thanks to everyone for your support! Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Best,
John
