We will have all of our titles for sale, including our recent release, “Mark Schultz: Various Drawings Volume Two.” Schultz will be signing books and selling his original artwork at our booth between 2:00 to 4:00 PM each day.
Brian M. Kane, author and designer of James Bama: American Realist, will also be at our table. This will be his first time at Comic-Con. Please stop by and welcome him to the show!
We will also have preview books of our upcoming titles “James Bama: American Realist” and “Steve Rude: An artist in Motion” (Steve will be at booth #1737). Promotional items and postcard flyers will be available.
Available for viewing at our table will be recently uncovered never before seen Xenozoic Tales merchandise items. Our art director Randall Dahlk has arranged for the loan of these unusual and rare items including paddleboards, sculptures, and a ray gun. Please stop by and take a look!
Filmmaker Paul Jilbert, whose James Bama documentary will be packaged with the limited edition of the James Bama book, will be making an appearance at our table. We will be running the documentary at our booth throughout the show. For those of you who would like to see a preview on a large screen, Paul has arranged a panel for this purpose. Here are the full details of the panel taken from the Comic-Con program schedule.
Saturday 12:30-2:00 James Bama Documentary— Filmmaker Paul Jilbert's documentary on the life and work of artist James Bama focuses on the top illustrator of the 60s and 70s who created the stunning cover art for the Doc Savage Man of Bronze paperbacks. Bama has gone on to painting western fine art. A DVD will be released along with author Brian Kane's new book, James Bama: American Realist, published by Flesk Publications in September 2006. Panel members include filmmaker Paul Jilbert (Robert McGinnis: Painting The Last Rose of Summer), author Brian Kane (Hal Foster's Prince Valiant), artist Glen Orbik (Hard Case Crime), and publisher John Fleskes. The preview of the film will be followed by a Q&A session with the panel members.
